I am an international educator with five years of experience teaching abroad. I have taught primary, secondary and adult levels, from instructing classes of up to 38 students in public schools to helping business professionals in multinational corporations learn valuable skills to communicate with their clients. I have also taught introductory Spanish classes; despite not being a native speaker, I am passionate about language learning and embrace opportunities to share my knowledge and enthusiasm.
In addition being an educator, I am an independent writer specializing in articles about travel, culture, and lifestyle, providing useful and engaging content that transforms new readers into return subscribers.
My Awesome Journey into Education
I received my TEFL certificate from the International Teacher Training Organization in Guadalajara, México in 2012, with additional certification in Teaching Business English and TESOL Technology. In 2013, I taught English at a language center in Tlaquepaque, México, and secondary-level Informática at the British American School in Puerto Vallarta, México.
I moved to Colombia in 2014 to work with WorldTeach and Volunteers Colombia, teaching primary-level English at a public school in Barranquilla. In 2015 and 2016, I was a teacher at the secondary-level with Aspaen Gimnasio Cartagena de Indias, where I worked as the Area Director for Information Communications and Technology, and as a teacher of English literature and creative writing. In 2017, I worked with Bogotá Business English as an independent teacher and writer in Barranquilla. In 2018, I returned to the United States, where I currently reside in Sacramento, California.
Prior to teaching, I worked in Information Technology, Digital Composition and Administrative Support with the State of California, and as a graphic designer in the San Francisco Bay Area, earning certificates in multimedia and advanced studies in technology through print and web production.
