About

I am an international educator with five years’ experience teaching in Mexico and Colombia. I discovered my passion for teaching and traveling while living and working in these culturally-rich countries.

In Colombia I traveled extensively, visiting major cities and small villages, each time falling more in love with the culture, people, food, and music. A Costeña at heart, my preferred cities are Barranquilla and Cartagena, though Santa Marta and Isla San Andrés are also favorites.

In 2016, I added SCUBA diving to my list of passions, learning to dive in the archipelago Islas de Rosario and earning a PADI Open Water Diver certificate from Cartagena Divers.

In 2018, I left Colombia and returned to the U.S., where I currently work in a bilingual Spanish position with the State of California Department of Public Health.

In January 2020, with the desire to enhance my education and return to teaching, I enrolled in the Oxford TEFL Barcelona program through Trinity College London to pursue a diploma in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages.

When I’m not working, traveling, or studying, I enjoy riding my vintage Vespa, writing and editing content, going on road trips, and staying connected with friends around the world.
