My (International) Story
I moved to Colombia in 2014 as a year-long volunteer with WorldTeach and Volunteers Colombia, teaching primary-level English at a public school in Barranquilla. In 2015 and 2016, I was a teacher at the secondary-level with Aspaen Gimnasio Cartagena de Indias, where I worked as the Area Director for Information Communications and Technology, and as a teacher of English literature and creative writing.
I received my TEFL certificate from the International Teacher Training Organization in Guadalajara, México in 2012, with additional ITTO Online certification in Teaching Business English and TESOL Technology. In 2013, I taught English at a language center in Tlaquepaque, México, and secondary-level Informática at the British American School in Puerto Vallarta, México.
Prior to teaching, I worked in Information Technology, Digital Composition and Administrative Support with the State Government of California, and as a graphic designer in the San Francisco Bay Area, earning certificates in multimedia and the advanced study of technology through print and web production.
